An Oversize/Overweight Load - Trip Permit (OO Trip) is required for the transportation of a load(s) that exceeds the limits prescribed in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), on a specific day(s), on a specific route, that is not already allowed for by a current Oversize/Overweight Load - Annual Permit (OO Annual).

Whereas Section 110 of the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.8, as amended, limits the size and weight of loaded vehicles travelling on Highways including County Roads, permits may be issued (by municipalities) under certain conditions and circumstances allowing for the moving of loaded vehicles which exceed the legal size and/or weight.

The information therein applies only to Lambton County Roads and it is the responsibility of the Owner and/or Mover to obtain approval from the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and/or Local Road Authorities where moves require travel on Provincial Highways and/or local roads. 

Any person found to be in violation of any provision of the moving permit is guilty of an offence and is subject to such fine or penalty as may be permitted under the HTA, as amended.

It is the responsibility of the Owner and/or Mover to verify that the selected route is clear of all vertical and horizontal obstruction for the load dimensions under permit.

Please be aware that travel routes should avoid construction and events on the roads. Drivers are required to review their route on www.Municipal511.ca prior to their trip for the latest notifications related to road closures, construction, events, new restrictions, etc. along their route

The owner and/or mover of the load being moved shall indemnify and save harmless the County of Lambton against any actions, claims, damages, loss, actions, or other proceedings, by whomever brought or made based upon, occasioned by or attributed to the issuance of this permit.
