Please read carefully:

An Oversize/Overweight Annual Permit (O/O Annual) allows for the hauling of oversize/overweight loads during the period permitted, as defined by the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), that are within the specified maximum weights and dimensions permitted, and that are also subject to seasonal, fixed and temporary load restrictions.

Whereas Section 110 of the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.8, as amended, limits the size and weight of loaded vehicles travelling on Highways including County Roads, permits may be issued (by municipalities) under certain conditions and circumstances allowing for the moving of loaded vehicles which exceed the legal size and/or weight.

The information therein applies only to Lambton County Roads and it is the responsibility of the Owner and/or Mover to obtain approval from the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and/or Local Road Authorities where moves require travel on Provincial Highways and/or local roads. 

Any person found to be in violation of any provision of the moving permit is guilty of an offence and is subject to such fine or penalty as may be permitted under the HTA, as amended.

It is the responsibility of the Owner and/or Mover to verify that the selected route is clear of all vertical and horizontal obstruction for the load dimensions under permit.

Please be aware that travel routes should avoid construction and events on the roads. Drivers are required to review their route on www.Municipal511.ca prior to their trip for the latest notifications related to road closures, construction, events, new restrictions, etc. along their route

The owner and/or mover of the load being moved shall indemnify and save harmless the County of Lambton against any actions, claims, damages, loss, actions, or other proceedings, by whomever brought or made based upon, occasioned by or attributed to the issuance of this permit.

Special Instructions:

Effective March 2, 2026, all County Oversize/Overweight Annual Permits shall expire/require renewal by December 31, 2026. Permits shall no longer be valid for a year from the anniversary date of issuance.

Oversize/Overweight Load Annual Permit (OO Annual) - County of Lambton Details

Pick one of the annual load permit types from the list. Dimensions (or weight) outside these parameters shall require completing single trip application in place of annual type.
Enter the number of hauling units to be assigned a permit. You will receive numbered certificates accordingly. This is the number of trucks allowable to operate on our road network at any one time.
Enter the license plate numbers then truck name and its ID for the hauling unit(s) to be used under issued certificates. (Ex., ABC-123 (Truck Name and ID), DEF-456 (Truck Name and ID), etc.)
If required, enter license plate numbers for any trailers that may be associated with this permit.
Some road authorities require MTO and MOE certificates be uploaded.
